Redwire Engineering Ground Support Equipment to test ISS-bound Experiment Modules

Challenge

Redwire Space needed a custom-built Engineering Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) to test ISS-bound experiment modules in their cleanroom. The EGSE had to replicate the flight-grade facility hardware with high fidelity, ensuring seamless operation and integration with their controller.

Solution

To meet the tight deadline, Comate and Redwire worked closely together in a phased approach, beginning with a clear alignment on the system requirements. We combined COTS components with custom electronics, validated critical subsystems through feasibility testing, and carried out FAT and SAT procedures on the EGSE. The result: A robust system delivered first-time right, on time and within budget.
