Ready for a new phase of growth

Comate acts as a development partner for companies aiming to bring innovative devices and machines to market – from the first idea to the final product. This approach has resulted, over the past fifteen years, in thousands of projects for clients such as P&G, Onward, Bekaert, imec, Bosch, and Cyclowax. Along the way, the team has built exceptional expertise, including in active implants and medical devices.

"What started as an ambitious startup is now an organisation of more than 70 people, with robust processes and an international track record. What we have in‑house is absolute world‑class expertise. We have proven that time and again. With Sebastian on board, we are ready for the next phase of growth, both nationally and internationally." - Sander Van den dries, Co-owner Comate

From partner to CEO

Sebastian De Boer built his career at Alcatel, Telindus, Proximus, and imec. In his role as business development manager at imec, he regularly collaborated with Comate on translating fundamental research into market‑ready products – an experience that convinced him to make the move to Comate.

"The gap between what works in a lab and what works in the market is often significant. I have personally experienced that Comate is one of the few companies that fully masters the journey from lab to market – technically, but also in terms of certification, manufacturing readiness, and commercial viability. I am extremely proud to now lead this team." - Sebastian De Boer, CEO of Comate

In his new role, he will strengthen Comate both commercially and operationally to drive further profitable growth, with a focus on increasing market share in Belgium and expanding its position with international clients.
