Bedal

Bedal was founded based on the personal experiences of one of the founders. When David was diagnosed with cancer, he was hospitalized regularly for treatment. During this treatment, he was confronted with the practical difficulties of patients with an intravenous catheter. This sparked the founding of Bedal. Their first product – a shower protection dressing – was distributed in 7 countries. They learned that nursing staff an patients really liked the device, but hospitals were not buying it. The company pivoted to stabilization devices.

Catheters are often stabilized using dressings and sutures, but this leads to frequent failures, complications and a higher infection risk. Scientific studies showed that the use of sutureless catheter stabilization devices improves performance and safety, decreases complications and decreases infections rates.

Bedal provices a full portfolio of stabilization devices, where one size fits all, it is easy to use, has a very strong fixation and increase patient comfort. Their portfolio is able to stabilize 85% of all catheters in a hospital.
