Comate Ghent is hiring

4 November 2021

Inventor seeks Brains (m/f/x)

Do you want to help build tomorrow’s world? For our new branch in Ghent, we are currently looking for talented and passionate engineers and designers like you, who can develop new, disruptive products together with our clients.

Why you should work at Comate

Comate is unlike most companies. In 2019, we were voted Flemish SME of the year and we have made it into the Top 50 of Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 for four consecutive years. We develop innovative high-tech hardware from scratch for pioneering companies across all possible industries: from the most secure cryptowallet on the market and a design snowplough to a device that makes hip surgery more efficient for surgeons and patients alike. Our robots, IoT devices and other high-tech products have already won dozens of international awards. In 2019, we were voted SME of the year.

Making dreams come true

‘The winning combination of engineers and designers is what sets us apart’, says founder and CEO Wouter Foulon. ‘We offer the perfect blend of technology and design. There are plenty of engineering companies and design agencies out there. But the combination of the two is much rarer. Comate is a lean and mean machine: sufficiently innovative, disruptive and agile to develop the best products with our clients, time and again.’

‘People sometimes call us an inventor company: our clients are often pioneers with a breakthrough idea that could radically change the world we live in. We make their dream come true. What’s more, we find it tremendously exciting and motivating to turn a good idea into a workable product.’

Why Ghent?

'Ghent offers exciting growth opportunities for talented engineers and designers. While our head office is located in Leuven, we realised that the distance was an obstacle for talented potential hires from West and East Flanders. A close collaboration with our clients is one of the ingredients of our success, which is why it makes sense to be closer to them. In Ghent we found what we were looking for: a great-looking and accessible office, with many like-minded innovative companies nearby.’

Who are we looking for?

‘We're looking for colleagues who are really proud and motivated to work on the newest mechanical and mechatronic innovations. Our organisation is powered by our passion for innovation and the drive to develop the best possible products. Everything we do, and every decision we make, is designed to give the product or idea the best chance of success on the market.’

‘Obviously we value technical expertise and an eye for design. More importantly, however, we want people to be able to reinvent themselves in today’s fast-paced technological world. Each of our team members strives to be a better version of themselves every day.’

What do we have to offer?

‘Variety. You always start from scratch, working on a product that may radically change the world as we know it. You're immersed in our inspiring company culture, working with enthusiastic employees and short lines of communication. As a growing company, we're able to offer our team members an opportunity to map out their own career and growth and take advantage of new opportunities in a stimulating, innovative environment.
