Do you love making good-looking things and making things look good?

We're looking for a skilled Industrial Designer who can bring the brand values of our customer alive in physical form. Are you obsessed with styling and meticulously crafting beautiful hardware products by means of shapes, surfaces, colors, materials and finish? Do you know the technical ins and outs of styling hardware products and eat curvature continuous for breakfast?

You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and designers on the development of innovative products and machinery. The aim of our passionate team is to cooperate with our clients in order to develop a unique product that is more advanced than anything that is currently available on the market. As an Industrial Designer, you will work within the project team to bring our client's brand values to life in the form of visually striking hardware products.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

• Discovering the suited brand values & tone of voice for our hardware products
• Developing a Design DNA & Visual Brand Language for our clients' brand
• Styling beautiful hardware products while keeping an eye on manufacturing feasibility & cost
• Collaborating closely with our user researchers, concept designers, usability experts, electromechanical engineers & system architects to ensure
• Ensuring the base CAD models for our engineers are technically sound in terms of curvature and resulting light signatures on one end and manufacturability on the other end

REQUIREMENTS

• An advanced skillset in hardware product styling and 3D brand development
• You have a higher degree in Product development, Industrial Design or the like.
• Your killer portfolio blows us away
• Experience is nice to have, but we're certainly open to developing talent
• Excited to keep expanding and developing your technical styling skillset in the fields of:
  • CAD Methodologies (Power Surfacing, SUB-D modelling, …)
  • Procedural 3D geometry (e.g. Grasshopper etc.)
  • Animation & Motion Design
  • Light & material studies
  • Rendering tools
  • Form & Color Theory
  • Manufacturing & finishing techniques
  • Generative AI (Midjourney, Vizcom, Krea, …)
  • Sensory Design
  • …

• Knowledge of modelling (Solidworks or other) and rendering software (Keyshot or other)
• Proficiency in the Adobe suite
• Good and speedy (digital) sketching & mixed media skills
• Strong basis in graphic design and an interest in 2D brand development is a big plus
• You have the reflex to place the user centrally throughout the entire development process.
• You are flexible, you have no problems with adapting new plans. Product development is fun, but also unpredictable.
• You can handle pressure because honestly, we work hard.
